In this ultimate guide, we’ll show you how to crack the code and master the TRF for your best IELTS score yet. Let’s get started!

What is Test Report Form?

The Test Report Form (TRF) is a crucial component of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The TRF is a document that provides an individual’s overall band score, as well as individual scores for each of the four language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. It is an essential document that is used by universities, immigration authorities, and employers around the world to determine an individual’s language proficiency.

The TRF includes a detailed breakdown of an individual’s performance on each section of the IELTS, including the number of correct answers and the overall score. This information is presented in a clear and easy-to-understand format, allowing individuals to quickly identify areas of strength and weakness in their language skills.

Validity of Test Report Form

It’s important to note that the test report form is only valid for two years from the date of the test. After this time, the scores on the TRF are no longer considered valid or reliable indicators of an individual’s language proficiency. Students can collect their TRF from the IDP IELTS offices after offering up the id proof used for registration.

In the next section of this guide, we’ll take a closer look at TRF and how you can use this information to improve your IELTS performance.

An illustration of TRF in IELTS

Because the TRF is such an important document, it must be kept secure. The institution can view the candidates’ IELTS report forms by using the IELTS report form verification service. They will require the candidates’ IELTS test report form number, which can be found in the bottom right corner of the form. Furthermore, students should know that IELTS citation numbers and test report form (TRF) numbers are different.

TRF in IELTS consists of the following:

Test type: educational or general training.

Center number

The date of the test

Roll number

Candidate information, including family name, first name, and candidate ID.

Personal information includes birth date, sex, scheme code, nation, and first language.

TRF will include your IELTS scores for listening, reading, writing, and speaking total band scores and the respective CEFR levels.

TRF number.

Authentication of the TRF in IELTS

All IELTS test reports are verified as part of the assessment process using the web IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) verifying site. To ensure the authenticity of the TRF, IELTS has implemented various measures.

First and foremost, all TRFs are produced by the IELTS Test Centre that administers the test. The TRF is printed on security paper that includes a unique serial number and a watermark, making it difficult to duplicate.

Additionally, the TRF includes the candidate’s photograph, which is taken on the day of the test and verified by the Test Centre staff.

IELTS has also implemented a Verification Service that allows institutions to confirm the authenticity of a candidate’s TRF. The Verification Service is available online and allows institutions to verify the authenticity of a TRF by entering the candidate’s details and the TRF’s serial number.

This service is free of charge and available to any institution that accepts IELTS scores.

Lastly, IELTS has strict policies in place to prevent fraud and cheating during tests. Candidates are required to present valid identification documents, such as a passport or national identity card, on the day of the test.

These documents are checked by Test Centre staff to ensure that they are valid and match the candidate’s details. Additionally, IELTS uses advanced biometric technology, such as fingerprint recognition, to verify the identity of candidates during the test.

Read more: How to Prepare for IELTS Exam | 5 expert tips

Additional Test Report Form (ATRF)

The first five digital Additional Test Report Forms (ATRF) are free and can be requested within a month of the test date. After the first five TRF reports, applicants will be charged an organization fee of Rs 250 per college/university.

TRFs can be delivered to educational institutions listed in the application via email, regular mail, courier services, or international mail. You may be charged extra for courier companies and international postage.

IDP will no longer accept in-person application forms for additional TRF beginning February 1, 2020. Candidates can now request additional TRFs straight on the official IDP website. They may request that the additional TRF be sent to any recognized organization within two years of taking the IELTS test. The requested TRF in IELTS is delivered directly to the organization.

Additional TRF requests cannot be canceled once submitted, and IDP processes additional TRF requests in 5-10 working days. Sundays, vacations, and the day the request was submitted are not included in the time frame.

How can you approach your TRF to institutions?

Around one month before the test date, test takers could apply for five TRF in IELTS postings at colleges/universities. The IELTS examination organizers manage the submission of TRFs to recognized organizations. They are sent to the educational institutions listed in the application via email, regular mail, courier, or international mail.

In a single day, candidates may apply for a digital score trying to report to a maximum of five universities. Students who apply for more than five TRF reports will be charged an additional Rs 250 per institute.

Original copies of TRFs are not required by international academic institutions or employers who use IELTS. They have online access to TRF in IELTS.

You can also access the TRF online through your enrollment account, but you must know the percentage of TRF in IELTS and how to find it. It is the 15-18 digit number noted in the bottom right corner of a TRF manuscript.

The results of the exam do not define your success, but they may improve your personality.

Keeping an eye on your TRF in IELTS

On the 13th day following the exam, candidates who appeared for the paper-based IELTS exam can get their TRF and their IELTS scores.
