In the computer test, you can expect the results about three to five days after the test. While in the paper-based IELTS, the results are obtained after a 2-week timespan.

Different content structure

The content structure of the IELTS computer-based test is the same as the paper-based test. Both formats have four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

The IELTS test takes over 2.5 hours for listening, reading, writing. Paper test takes longer due to answer marking. Computer-based tests are quicker with simple answer selection.

More words on paper, higher score

Writing more doesn't guarantee higher scores; exceeding word limits causes errors and dilutes core ideas. Stick to word count, e.g., 150 or 250 words for tasks 1 and 2.
