The GMAT Exam (Focus Edition), introduced in 2024, features a revised scoring system and structure. Here’s an overview to help you understand the current GMAT score chart for 2025

Total Score Range:

The GMAT Focus Edition total scores range from 205 to 805, differing from the previous edition’s 200 to 800 scale. 

Section Scores:

The exam comprises three sections:

• Quantitative Reasoning: 60 to 90
  
  
• Verbal Reasoning: 60 to 90
  
  
• Data Insights: 60 to 90. Each section contributes equally to the total score.

Scoring Formula:
The total score is calculated using the following formula:

Total Score = 205 + [(Quant + Verbal + Data Insights – 180)/3] × 20

This means that every 3-point increase across the combined section scores results in a 20-point increase in the total score. 

Percentile Rankings:

Percentile rankings indicate how a test-taker’s performance compares to others. For instance, a total score of 645 corresponds to the 87th percentile, meaning the test-taker scored better than 87% of examinees.
