Section #2 Writing
The TOEFL exam pattern of the writing section contains two tasks, which take around 50 minutes to complete.
- Essay writing task- In the first one, you will be required to write an essay that effectively mentions all the key points relating to the topic. - It includes 3-4 passages of not more than 800 words.
- Examinee has to answer ten questions from each passage.
- The passages are taken from university-level textbooks and cover an array of topics.
- The total number of questions is about 40 while the maximum marks are 30.
- This section takes 55 to 72 minutes to be completed.
Section #4 Speaking
The speaking section is quite important and difficult at the same time. To get the best score in this section, you need to give the most appropriate responses to the questions asked. The test graders want to have an intelligent conversation with the examinees, and the most sustained conversation gets the best marks. - Factual information

- Independent task
In this task, only the speaking ability of the examinee is measured. This task might include a spoken essay or a conversation on the topic you choose from the list of topics given to you.
- Integrated task
With this task, all four skills of the examinee are assessed. It asks you to read a conversation, listen to a conversation, and write your views on the same.
Writing question types
- Integrated writing task
Here, the examinee will have to read and listen to a topic and then write on the same. It focuses on the examinee’s reading, listening, and writing abilities.
- Independent task
The candidate has to present their ideas by writing on a topic. It solely tests the writing abilities, including the efficiency in English writing, the presence of significant ideas, and a well-organized structure.
